OK, I know that you have seen this DIY allover Pinterest!  It looked so easy, I had to give it a try.  So I decided that Kellan’s five daycare teachers would get their own personalized mugs for Christmas this year – stuffed with hot cocoa, chocolate, and gift cards of course!

All you need to do this project:

  • White mugs (I bought mine at Crate and Barrel Outlet, but they sell them at Target too)
  • Sharpie oil based markers

I just drew directly on the mug freehand.  The pen was pretty easy to use!  The thing I loved about this project is that it looks handmade.  It was honestly quite relaxing to draw on the mugs.  For the names, I went to myfonts.com and looked at some fonts to mimic – that is not my regular handwriting!

These make great gifts for teachers during the holidays or at the end of the school year!  I might have to find another excuse to make them again…. co-workers birthday?  get well soon gift?  a little thank you gift?
