Spooky Yarn + Paper Plate Spiderweb by Confettiandtea.wordpress.com

Get in the mood for Halloween with your kiddos, try this fun and easy DIY project!  I was looking for a simple project to setup at Lucas’ (7) Cub Scout Halloween party and this one fit the bill.  I love the simple materials involved and the lacing portion of the project is great for developing fine motor skills with little ones.

First, gather all your materials:

  • Paper plates (thin ones)
  • Crayons or markers
  • Orange yarn
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • Fake spiders (or spider rings)

Fold the plate in half and cut a circle out of the middle.

Color in the outside rim of the plate and then use the hole punch to create evenly-spaced holes approximately 1.5″ apart.

String the orange yarn through the holes, creating a spiderweb!  Bright colored yarn works best if you are using black spiders.

Place your little spiders on the web and decorate your whole house with this spook-tacular creation!  Happy Halloween.
